The hot discussion continued with definite understanding that we want to have a clear mind, now and in the future. And what can be best indicator of clear mind than IQ (intelligence quotient)? So, we have agreed, OK, there is an element we want to see in our framework for ‘to-be’ picture – IQ.
So, the question was is there anything else? We observe a lot of cases in our daily lives to understand that IQ is not enough, it is always not enough. And of course, how we can go further without our emotions, and have decided that EQ (emotional quotient), is for sure a part of our future. This was actually no debates element, fitting for our ‘perfect to-be framework’.
So, that’s it we have agreed on two elements at this stage: IQ + EQ = I am well rounded person.
Well, something wasn’t really cool with this equation, and we have decided to elaborate our discussion further, to see if there is anything else, that we are missing for our framework. Inviting some more people into discussion, we have found a next element that was fitting perfectly to our framework – PQ (Physical Quotient). Well, I mean, how can you enjoy your life in full if you would have poor health, and improper physical condition?
So, now the picture was a way better. Just imagine, you are healthy, smart and emotionally rich, isn’t it a nice picture of you? Definitely, we have nodded our heads, saying that we like the way it sounds. IQ + EQ + PQ = I am a well-rounded person.
But there was something missing in this picture. And we were investing our time to think, is there anything else we want to have as part of our ‘to-be personality’ framework. And, the answer was yes. And we have decided to include 2 more elements into our formula, that we think was a perfect fit for our future, like SQ (Spiritual Quotient) and AQ (Adversity Quotient).
So, now we thought that “IQ + EQ + PQ + SQ + AQ = I am a well-rounded person” seemed more interesting for us.
Briefly wanted to summarize, what we see under each quotient:
IQ: an intelligence test score that is obtained by dividing mental age, which reflects the age-graded level of performance as derived from population norms, by chronological age and multiplying by 100: a score of 100 thus indicates a performance at exactly the normal level for that age group. (https://www.dictionary.com/browse/intelligence-quotient)
EQ: A person’s EQ is a measure of their interpersonal and communication skills. EQ is an abbreviation for ’emotional quotient.’ (https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dictionary/english/eq)
PQ: Ability to listen, identify and respond to internal messages about one’s physical self. Also, learn about and understand the mind body connection. And of course, determining our body’s perfect weight, fitness level and perfect diet. (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20141116173602-54252615-sq-eq-iq-pq-success/)
SQ: The ability to behave with wisdom and compassion, while maintaining inner and outer peace, regardless of the situation.” Wisdom and compassion being the pillars of SQ. (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20141116173602-54252615-sq-eq-iq-pq-success/)
AQ: Adversity Quotient (AQ) is the understanding and measurement of human resilience and capacity to live, work and deal with unavoidable and undesirable circumstances. Like stress, adversity, trauma or tragedy. It entails remaining stable and maintaining our cool, equanimous, stable, harmonious yet human composure. It means maintaining healthy level of physical and psychological functions even in the face of chaos. (https://www.jobs.ucdc.co.in/getpagedata.php?pageid=NDM%3D)
So, the thought is simple, if we want to succeed further through our lives, we have to invest into our future self, shaping and balancing between such elements as IQ + EQ + PQ + SQ + AQ.
